  1. Hello fellow readers 4 life! I am Dianne, a single mom who loves to read books as much as she loves her daughter. I am currently working as a chat support representative and an enterprenuer who sells art shirts.

I love books with action-thriller genres, which includes books by Dan Brown, Sydney Sheldon, Dennis Lehane and of course, Dean Koontz. I also like reading Filipino novels by F. Sionil Jose and Bob Ong, children's books by Roald Dahl, J. K. Rowling (who doesn't?), Jerry Spinelli and Eoin Colfer. I am open to any genres, well, except for heavy classics like Jane Austen.

Other than books, I love to spend my hours listening to music. If you want to talk about music and other stuff, just follow my Blogger account. :)

I hope we go along well here, no fighting over who's the best author or what is the best book, all good books are written by good authors. :)

    Hope to start soon! :)

  2. Welcome all! (And awesome intro, Dianne ^_~)

I am Sandra or Sandy, the blog admin and Di's coworker. I have no kids but I do have a cat and two dogs, which is kind of (but not really) the same thing. I love animals, was a vegetarian for a year after being guilt tripped into it by an animal rights essay I wrote for my Philosophy class. I am currently thinking of going pescatarian.

As a child I actually had a little trouble learning how to read, but once I got it down pat, I could not stop. I started with Fairy Tales, Mythologies, books by Swedish author Astrid Lindgren (in German) which I adore to this very day, R.L. Stine and Enid Blyton.

Fantasy is by far my favorite genre such as the works by Terry Pratchett, Robert Jordan, Garth Nix, Tamora Pierce and of course, the great J.R.R. Tolkien. I am also fond of the works by horror & suspense master Stephen King.

I also enjoy classics like Wuthering Heights, The Secret Garden, the works of Charles Dickens, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle...etc.

Apart from that, I am also: a big comic book and graphic novel geek (includes manga), a fan of cartoons/animation, a gamer (RPGs mostly), a lover of an eclectic range of music, an avid movie-goer and a freelance artist/illustrator hoping to have a graphic novel of her own published one day.

Here's to good books and many fun discussions to follow!

  3. Hi there, star shine! My name is Ree. I work as a writer and a freelance photographer. I'm 20 years old and I have a cat called "Freedie-kins" or 'Chico'. I like to write, paint, draw, listen to classic rock, watch movies and of course, read books. There's really nothing that interesting about me besides the fact that I have a lot of useless information to share. (E.g. did you know that cockroaches fart every 15 minutes?)

Anyway, I started reading books when I was a kid. "Santa" gave me this big book of fairy tales for Christmas and since then I've been in love with the written word. Back in grade school I used to read a lot of comic books, a lot of Disney fairy stuff and the local newspaper because of the morbid news stuff. Then in High School, i started reading novels like Harry Potter, John Grisham (although I never liked his books because of reasons), some Goosebumps series, the Animorphs stuff, Horror stuff, a couple of self-help books and some local authors like Bob Ong. When I went to college I read books that people lend to me like J.D. Salinger, Eoin Colfer, Mitch Albom and Paulo Coelho. After college, i turned to Y.A. books like the works of John Green, Joe Meno and Jay Asher. I love the classics from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Lewis Carroll, F.Scott Fitzgerald and Sylvia Plath. I also read Haruki Murakami because that guy is the most amazing surrealist writer that has ever existed (In my opinion) and I am currently collecting his works. I like browsing through old bargain bookstores and just search for something unique to read. I don’t usually go for best sellers. I just read books that I find interesting. I read so much that sometimes I think in narratives.

Aside from reading books and getting back aches from it which I do not regret, I also play guitar and harmonica and I sing too much for someone who can’t even sing a lick. I like anime and manga and I want to be a mangaka someday, too. I’m a sucker for music and I love bands. My hobbies include obsessing over old and dead rock stars and complaining why I’m not their wife. TV series such as BBC Sherlock, Elementary, House MD, Game of Thrones and Big Bang Theory are ruining my life. I did not choose the fandom life, the fandom life chose me and I regret nothing.

Well, that’s me. I’ll be shutting up now. Happy reading, everyone!

    ADVENTURE AWAITS!

  4. Finally, got my account working!

Well anyway, my name is Paula Francesca. Since I was a kid I have been traveling everywhere because my mom can't decide on where she wants to stay. During my spare time ( when i still had some) i read books mostly anything that catches my attention. I even tried jane austen's persuasion which by the way took me a little longer than usual to finish because i always had a thesaurus or a dictionary as a reference for some deep words that was used. The best book i have ever read was Mitch Albom's " The Five People you meet in heaven" and "Tuesdays with Morrie" and there was this other book written by Nicci French that i like " beneath the skin".

I play the guitar and drums. I sing as well, had my own band before and sometimes i am a little weirder than usual ( ask sandy) haha.

    Supah excited with this blog!!!
